Overview
01 — OverviewShiprade supplies a complete range of clay bricks made by traditional methods: clay is shaped by hand, dried in the open air and fired in the kiln. Each brick carries slight variations in colour, edge and texture, which give walls and facades a warm, living surface that machine-made bricks rarely achieve.
Fired clay lets a building breathe while holding heat, so interiors stay warm in winter and cool in summer, and the dense, irregular surface gives rooms a notably good acoustic character. The same material has carried mosques, churches and castles for centuries, which is why handmade brick is still the first choice for long-lived buildings and faithful restoration.
The range runs from full-size walling bricks in several formats to 2 cm brick slips for facades and interiors, rustic aged finishes, pressed perforated bricks, vault bricks, a family of arch, floor, minaret and eaves shapes for heritage work, fire bricks for furnace linings, solid bricks for underground cable protection and crushed tile aggregate for sports grounds and landscaping.
