Overview
Valensiya brings a renewed design and an elegant line to the roof. Its improved water performance and wide channels make it a long-lasting choice for areas with heavy rain.
Made from micronised clay with a smooth surface and high strength, it suits a range of roof pitches and forms and adapts to many architectural styles.
Laid right to left as seen from the eaves, each tile's side tooth seated fully in the neighbouring channel and the upper row's teeth in the channels below. Over continuous decking (boards or OSB) the underside of the tiles must be ventilated: 4.5 × 6.5 cm counter-battens are fixed every 60 cm perpendicular to the eaves, mineral wool boards fill the spaces between them, and a vapour-open membrane is laid over them from the eaves up with a 10–15 cm overlap.
Performance
- 01
Top dust lip
Meets the skirt of the tile above, keeping updraughts and driven rain out of the roof space.
- 02
Raised fixing hole
Positioned above the water line and under the tile above, so no leaks at nails or screws.
- 03
Fitting tolerance
1 cm of play in the vertical overlaps makes laying on battens easier.
- 04
Double side channel
Two channels guide water away and stop it entering the joint.
- 05
Wide water course
A broad flow surface carries dirt and sediment off with the rain.
Applications
- Villas and detached houses
- Housing developments
- High-rainfall regions
