01 — Overview

Overview

Tile granules are made by crushing fired Marseille-type clay tiles. The natural tile red does not fade, the material does not soften over time because it is fired above 900 °C, and being inorganic it carries no weed seeds or disease.

Laid and compacted to standard, it drains while holding moisture, and suits athletics tracks and running paths without puddling. In planting it keeps soil moist, stops it blowing away and suppresses weeds.
