01 — Overview

Gypsum board, also known as plasterboard or drywall, is a high-performance panel with a fire-resistant gypsum core between durable paper facings. It is used widely in interior construction for walls, ceilings and partitions in residential, institutional and commercial spaces.

Gypsum is hydrated calcium sulfate, which releases steam when exposed to heat. This slows the spread of fire and protects structural elements. The boards absorb sound, reduce reverberation and help regulate temperature.

Boards are lightweight and come in standard sizes. They cut and install easily with minimal equipment, which shortens construction time and lowers labour and material costs. Curved surfaces, custom finishes and smooth textures make them suit modern architecture.
