Overview
Mineral-Layer Board is a cement-bonded particle board of cement and wood, reinforced on both faces with layers of natural minerals. The mineral layers increase resistance to fire and to changing climates and improve paint adhesion, giving a durable, even grey surface.
It is the flat member of the PLUS family, which also offers wood, stone, brick and brick-stone textures. A thickness of 10–12 mm is recommended for facades; full-size boards are not recommended on facades except in prefabricated buildings.
Performance
- 01
Extra mineral layer
Mineral layers on both faces raise fire and weather resistance.
- 02
Better paint adhesion
The mineral surface gives paint and coatings a good key.
- 03
Ventilated facade
Fixed mechanically on ventilated-facade principles.
- 04
Matching accessories
Jambs, head jambs, inner and outer corners and string banding.
- 05
Paintable
Takes paint, coatings or wallpaper; natural grey when left as is.
- 06
Weather resistant
Resists seasonal change, sunlight, water, moisture and impact.
- 07
Healthy material
Asbestos-free and odourless. Will not rot, mould or attract insects.
- 08
Easy to work
Light to carry, easy to cut, drill, install and modify.
Applications
- Facades & external walls
- Outdoor ceilings, soffits & fascias
- Balconies & parapets
- Fences, boundary walls & noise barriers
- Internal walls & indoor ceilings
- Wet spaces
